Weezer's Rivers Cuomo has released a new song with country artist Morgan Evans.
The collaboration began when Evans posted a cover of Weezer's "Island in the Sun" on his Instagram. Cuomo then returned the favor by adding a new verse to Evans' song "Country Outta My Girl." Now, they've released an official version of the track together.
The result finds Cuomo flipping Evans' line "You can't take the country outta my girl" by singing about a "city girl" who rocks out to "Kurt Cobain down country roads."
"I think it's one of the most bad***, weird and wonderful things I've ever been a part of!" Evans says of the joint recording. "Shoutout to Rivers for lending his genius to this tune."
We can only assume Cuomo wore his Red Album cowboy hat while recording his vocals.
