
The Weeknd vowed to boycott the Grammys after not receiving any nominations, however he’s receiving lots of love from the Billboard Music Awards.
This year’s Super Bowl halftime headliner leads all artists with 16 nominations, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album for After Hours, and Top Selling Song for “Blinding Lights.”
The “Call Out My Name” singer is competing against Jhené Aiko, Chris Brown, Doja Cat, and Justin Bieber for Top R&B Artist. The Weeknd is also up against Drake, Juice WRLD, and Pop Smoke for Top Artist. They are all nominated for Top Male Artist along with Lil Baby.
Da Baby is second in nominations with 11 nods, including Top Rap Artist. His competition in that category includes Drake, Lil Baby, Pop Smoke, and Juice WRLD.
Megan Thee Stallion has seven nominations including Top Female Artist. She’s also nominated for Top Rap Female Artist along with Cardi B and Saweetie.
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air May 23 on NBC, live on both coasts at 8 p.m. ET.
