Twenty One Pilots have shared a clip of their "Stressed Out" performance from their upcoming MTV Unplugged special.
The video, which premiered via RollingStone.com, finds Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun toying with the melody of the Diamond-certified hit to match the stripped-down instrumentation, consisting only of a keyboard and a drum pad. Dun also makes a rare contribution on backing vocals.
Twenty One Pilots' MTV Unplugged episode, which marks the duo's debut on the legendary performance series, premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
"Preparing for MTV Unplugged will always live as a special moment for us as friends and collaborators," Joseph wrote in a tweet earlier this week. "Josh and I challenged each other, learned new things about music production, we practiced his singing together, called each other about nightmares of messing up."
"After memorizing 175+ musical cues, we eventually had to get on state and press 'start' on the loop," Joseph continued. "I'm being a little dramatic, but I'm proud of him. And I am proud of the result. But I think it's the time spent preparing together that will mean the most."
