Trivium drops epic new track, "In the Court of the Dragon"

Trivium has dropped an epic new song called "In the Court of the Dragon."

The track, which the metal outfit had started teasing earlier this week, is accompanied by a nine-minute short film, which centers around a medieval fantasy-type ritual that also seems connected to the modern world. You can watch that streaming now on YouTube.

"In the Court of the Dragon," which takes its name from a short story by author Robert W. Chambers, follows Trivium's album What the Dead Men Say, which was released at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020.

"We started putting together the riffs for what would become 'In the Court of the Dragon' last year with no touring on the horizon," says bassist Paolo Gregoletto. "We decided to use the uncertainty to our advantage and to create without any of the limitations and commitments that would normally be eating away at our time in the jam room."

Trivium will return to the road in August to join the Metal Tour of the Year with Megadeth, Lamb of God and In Flames. The band's also started working on a new album.
