2021 was Saweetie's breakout year, and after scoring two Grammys nods, she kicked off 2022 by joining the legendary Cher for the new M·A·C cosmetics "Challenge Accepted" campaign. Now busy completing her debut album, it's no wonder Saweetie needs a tool to help her handle her busy schedule.

The 28-year-old rapper says the key to maintaining her success amid such a demanding lifestyle is meditation.

"I work a lot, and because I work a lot, I have to figure out a way to balance myself. So, right now, I don't have many days off. But when I get the opportunity, I meditate just to balance myself again, because we all need balance," the California MC tells Refinery 29.

"The more I study meditation, the more I study food — all of these can have an effect on [the] emotional state," Saweetie explains. "I recently just did a meditation song, it's fly. I really just want to teach other women about meditating, because when you center yourself, when you get to know yourself better, that's when you can truly discover a genuine, confident side about yourself."

And while Saweetie is known for her extravagant fashions, she insists that inner beauty is what is important.

"A lot of people try to use makeup, use clothes, use cars, use materialistic things to make themselves confident," Saweetie continues. "But honestly, confidence comes from within."

The MTV Video Music Award winner, born Diamonté Harper, is now looking forward to the Grammy Awards, which have been postponed until further notice due to the pandemic. She's nominated for Best New Artist, and is also up for Best Rap Song for her Doja Cat collaboration "Best Friend."
