Papa Roach has released a new single from their upcoming album, due out later in 2022.
The song, "Stand Up," is described by front man Jacoby Shaddix in a statement as being "inspired by the social unrest of marginalized people throughout the world.” He adds, "It's about feeling of wanting to give up when you're backed against the wall. For the ones that have been oppressed for so long that a sense of hopelessness is all they have."
"Stand Up is meant to inspire that whisper, that small voice inside that you are worth standing for," he concludes. "Step into empowerment and shake the world with your voice.”
According to Metal Hammer, the song was written around the same time as Papa Roach's 2021 singles "Swerve," "Kill the Noise" and "Dying to Believe."
Papa Roach plans to kick off its Kill the Noise tour March 1 in Anaheim, California, with support from Bad Wolves and Hollywood Undead.
