Monica wants fans to get off her back about releasing her long-awaited album, 'Trenches'

R&B singer Monica isn't here for fans to hound her about her upcoming album, Trenches.

In a TikTok video shared on Instagram Monday, Monica put on a pair of white open-toe kitten heels that resembled her shoes in the 1995 video for "Before You Walk Out of My Life."

"Y'all keep asking me about this...album. Y'all think I'm playing? I ain't," she said before walking away from the camera. "Here, this is what you want? Get it."

"Trenches coming soon. Don't ask me where I'm going. The answer is THE STUDIO," Monica wrote in the caption.

Fans in the comments laughed at Monica's shoes as she prepares the follow up to her 2015 album, Code Red.

"Oh the shoes back! We ready sis," wrote one fan, with laughing emojis, while fellow singer Melanie Fiona wrote, "It's the flopping straps for me."

"Before You Walk Out of My Life" was featured on Monica's debut album, Miss Thang.

Trenches has yet to receive a release date but will mark her ninth studio release.  She released the title track,  featuring rapper Lil Baby, as the project's lead single last August, following her record-breaking Verzuz battle with Brandy.
