New Monica music is on the way. The singer, whose career spans back to her 1995 debut, Miss Thang, is returning to the scene with some help from Ty Dolla $ign. She teased the new single, titled "Friends," during her takeover of NPR's Tiny Desk.
Per a press release, the song sees Monica belt out about "a relationship that doesn't require understanding from anyone on the outside." It is scheduled to drop sometime in July.
While Monica hyped fans for her upcoming single, she also catered to longtime supporters of her timeless love ballads. The singer performed a live rendition of "Why I Love You So Much" and "Before You Walk Out of My Life" from her debut album. She also sang her 2003 hit "So Gone," the song behind the viral challenge of the same name.
