Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti has announced a cover of Frank Sinatra songs to raise money for charity.
The record, titled Tremonti Sings Sinatra, will raise money for the National Down Syndrome Society in honor of Mark's daughter, Stella, who was born last March with Down syndrome.
"For years, I've loved singing along to Frank's songs," Tremonti says. "One night, I found an old video of him performing 'The Song Is You' from 1944. It made me want to dive into his vocal approach. I was all in and I wanted to do something with it."
"When we found out about our daughter Stella's Down syndrome diagnosis, the stars aligned," Mark continues. "My obsession with Sinatra had its reason...I decided to do this record to raise funds for families and individuals with Down syndrome. This project is the start of a new purpose that I will have for the rest of my life."
Tremonti Sings Sinatra, which features members of Sinatra's orchestra, will be released May 27. In the meantime, you can listen to Mark's cover of "I've Got You Under My Skin" now via digital outlets.
In addition to his work with Alter Bridge and Creed, Mark also fronts his own band, Tremonti. The most recent Tremonti album is 2021's Marching in Time.
