Listen to new DED song, "Kill Beautiful Things"

DED has premiered a new song called "Kill Beautiful Things."

The track, which is available now for digital download, is a meditation on "the survival of compassion and love in the modern world and how you navigate the path of life to not succumb to the evils of humanity," frontman Joe Cotela explains.

"The song shines a light on our struggle to exist with a conscious mind and good intentions against an overwhelming current of negativity and strife," Cotela says. "I don't enjoy when I get pulled into the darkness of my mind, yet I cannot deny it strengthens me against becoming this person I don't want to be."

He continues, "I do feel we all need to remind ourselves of the sacred place we come from to preserve our identity and remain on our path to our true destiny, as there are many false ones on detours along the way."

The accompanying "Kill Beautiful Things" video, which was co-directed by In This Moment's Maria Brink, follows Cotela as we walks through a burning forest. You can watch the clip streaming now on YouTube.

"Kill Beautiful Things" follows DED's 2020 trio of singles, "A Mannequin Idol (Lullaby)," "Eyes Sewn Shut" and "Parasite." The group's most recent album is their 2017 debut Mis•an•thrope, which features the single "Anti-Everything."

DED will be touring this fall while opening for In This Moment and Black Veil Brides.
