Lil Wayne was determined to be a rapper growing up, and he recalls an incident at age 12 where he tried to take his own when he believed he was not going to be able to fulfill his dream.

During an appearance on a new episode of the Internet series Uncomfortable Conversations with Emmanuel Acho that's been posted Instagram page, Wayne reveals that the incident occurred after he lied to his mother about his school schedule so he could stay out longer, and she punished him by telling him he was no longer allowed to rap.

The "Uproar" MC was so angry and frustrated, he found his mother's gun and tried to kill himself by shootring himself in the chaest. Fortunately, he called police in advance to inform them of his intentions, and an officer arrived at his home and saved his life. Wayne still has a scar on his chest from the bullet wound.

"When I was told that I couldn't have what I wanted, what I dreamed of, what I desired, and that was to rap, I was willing to die for it," Weezy explains.

The hip-hop mogul says he wanted to die because he felt he had no one to talk to about his life.

"So when you have no one to vent to, no one to get this out to, you can't bring it to your friends at school," Wayne says. "You're still trying to be cool to them."

Wayne maintains that by sharing his story, he's hoping others who are experiencing thoughts of suicide and other mental health issues will seek help.
