After over a year of silence from New York rapper 6ix9ine, the normally outspoken self-proclaimed "King of NY" is making his triumphant return to music, on April 15.
In an Instagram announcement on Friday, Daniel Hernandez, formerly known as Tekashi69, shared a minute-long preview of what seems to be a music video. In the disturbing clip, the seemingly near-death rapper is embraced by a demon-like character who, standing in a room full of bloody knives and tools, tells the rapper, "[Y]ou just have to die."
"I hope everybody enjoyed there 15 minutes [sic]. THE DEMON IS BACK APRIL 15TH. I'm THE BEAST they couldn't contain," the posts' captions reads. "The industry most hated animal. APRIL 15th the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK. I'm going back home AYOOOOOOO GINÈ GINÈ DONT GET CAUGHT ON REPLAY ‼️‼️"
6ix9ine last posted on Instagram in May of last year, and has since made no appearances or dropped any music. The rapper's silence for the last year has come as quite the surprise, since he's known for often speaking his mind and trolling and feuding with many other music artists. It seemed that his many altercations with celebrities like Meek Mill were of amusement to the rapper.
Regardless of 6ix9ine's reasoning for going ghost for a while, the New York rapper is back and with a vengeance, according to him.
