Five days following the anniversary of his death, the spirit of Kurt Cobain lived on during Kid Cudi's performance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.
The "Day 'n' Nite" rapper took the stage wearing a white floral dress inspired by the dresses that the late Nirvana frontman would wear during live concerts and for magazine shoots. Following his performance, Cudi took to Twitter to explain more about what he wanted to say with the dress.
"I told [designer Virgil Abloh] I wanted to show love to Kurt [with] a floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece," Cudi shared, adding that Abloh is a "genius."
"Love you man we did it!!!" he added.
Cudi wore the dress during his rendition of his song "Sad People." For his other performance, he sang his song "Tequila Shots" while wearing a green cardigan similar to the one Cobain sported during Nirvana's legendary MTV Unplugged performance.
You may recall that Post Malone also wore a floral dress during his Nirvana tribute livestream last year.
Cobain died April 5, 1994 at age 27. Last Monday marked the 27th anniversary of his death, meaning he's now been dead for as long as he was alive.
