HIM's Ville Valo releases new song, "Loveletting"; debut solo album 'Neon Noir' due out in 2023

Heartagram Records

HIM frontman Ville Valo has premiered a new song called "Loveletting."

The track is Vallo's debut release under his VV solo moniker. It will appear on the first VV album, Neon Noir, set to arrive in 2023.

The launch of VV comes five years after HIM played their final show in 2017. Beloved in their native Finland, the band is best known in the U.S. for the single "Wings of a Butterfly."

"As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again," Vallo says. "Eventually, I decided to put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That's how 'Loveletting' was born."

Vallo adds that the rest of Neon Noir sounds like "the Mamas and the Papas dressed up as Metallica on their way to a Halloween bash at the Studio 54."

You can listen to "Loveletting" now via digital outlets, and watch its accompanying video streaming now on YouTube.

Vallo will launch a U.S. VV tour beginning next April.
