Ghost drops new lyric video for viral TikTok song "Mary on a Cross"

Loma Vista Recordings

Ghost has premiered a new lyric video for the band's viral TikTok song "May on a Cross."

The clip is backed by grainy footage of the Swedish metallers performing in Los Angeles in 1969. Being that frontman Tobias Forge wasn't born until 1981, that show didn't actually happen — unless Papa Emeritus has time travel powers — so it instead becomes part of Ghost's elaborate, fictional backstory.

You can watch the "Mary on a Cross" lyric video streaming now on YouTube.

"Mary on a Cross" was originally released in 2019 as part of Ghost's Seven Inches of Satanic Panic vinyl and digital single. Following its TikTok-fueled resurgence this year, it became the first Ghost song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Ghost is also releasing a repress of the Seven Inches of Satanic Panic vinyl, which is available for preorder now.
