(NOTE LANGUAGE) Future is flying high on the Billboard charts.
The rapper secured not one, but two number one spots on the music charts with his new album, I Never Liked You, topping the Billboard 200 and the Drake and Tems-assisted "Wait For You" atop the Billboard Hot 100, both charts dated for May 14.
"Wait For You" came on April 29 with the release of the Future's ninth studio album and Billboard reports that, according to Luminate, the record earned an impressive 40.2 million streams, 7.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 6,400 downloads sold in the April 29-May 5 tracking week. It's debut on the Hot 100 is Future's first time atop the chart as the lead artist and his second time topping the chart overall -- the first was with Drake's "Way 2 Sexy."
Three other tracks from his latest project also made the top 10 of the Hot 100. "Puffin on Zootiez," "712PM" and "I’m Dat N****" earned the fourth, eighth, and tenth spots, respectively.
When it comes to the album, it earned 222,000 equivalent album units, making it Future's eighth number one album.
Combine the success of I Never Liked You and "Wait For You" together and the "Mask Off" rapper becomes only the fourth artist to make a double debut as such, and the seventh time it's happened overall. The only other artists to do so are Drake, BTS, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift, the latter of which has earned the honor three times.
On Monday, Future celebrated his successes by shouting out those that helped make it possible.
"The producers who contributed to making #INEVERLIKEDYOU a success I jus [sic] wanna say THANK YOU for sharing your gift with me. Forever," he tweeted.
