Slipknot's Corey Taylor says he and his bandmates had hoped to make up with former drummer Joey Jordison prior to his death in 2021.
Jordison, a founding member of Slipknot, was dismissed from the group in 2013 for reasons that were never made publicly clear. In 2016, Jordison revealed that he was battling a rare neurological disease called transverse myelitis ahead of his departure from Slipknot.
Speaking with The Fader, Taylor shares that the Knot wanted to "mend fences" with Jordison.
"I just wish we hadn't lost him this soon," he says. "It's one of those things that tells you: whatever you need to do, do it now. Because you never know when you're gonna lose somebody."
Taylor adds that Jordison's death affected the latest Slipknot album, The End, So Far.
"It definitely crept in because [Jordison's death] happened while we were working on some of this music," he says. "We dedicated the album to him."
