BTS is back, and they're breaking records!
Over the weekend, the K-pop group broke the global event cinema record, raking in $32.6 million with Permission to Dance on Stage -- Seoul: Live Viewing.
The event, which was held on March 10, 12, and 13 at Seoul Olympic Stadium, marked BTS' highly anticipated first return to a stage in South Korea in front of a live audience since 2019.
If you couldn't catch Permission to Dance on Stage -- Seoul: Live Viewing in person, a one-night only broadcast, presented by HYBE and Trafalgar Releasing, hit over 3,700 cinemas across in 75 markets across the globe, reaching approximately 1.4 million viewers. It also reached the number-two spot in North American box offices on Saturday.
During the show, BTS performed some of their biggest hits, including "Butter," "Dynamite," and "Permission to Dance."
HYBE 360 President DJ Kim said, "As the pandemic made it difficult to access the concert venue, we wanted to create an opportunity for fans to gather and watch the concert together. We came up with the idea of LIVE VIEWING at cinemas and are delighted to offer an alternative experience for fans to enjoy the concert live."
