People may want to read Britney Spears' new memoir, The Woman in Me, for all the sordid details, but let's not forget what made her famous in the first place: her music. The RIAA celebrated her hit-packed catalog on October 24, the day the book dropped, by announcing a slew of new Gold and Platinum certifications for Brit.
Among the certifications were awards for her albums Circus, Blackout and In the Zone, certified for sales of 3 million copies, 2 million copies and 3 million copies, respectively.
Most of her biggest hits also got new awards, including:
"Toxic" -- 6 million copies
"Womanizer" -- 5 million copies
"... Baby One More Time" -- 5 million copies
"Circus" -- 5 million copies
"Gimme More" -- 4 million copies
"Oops! ... I Did it Again" -- 3 million copies
"3" -- 3 million copies
"Work B****" -- 2 million copies
"Piece of Me" -- 2 million copies
Britney's duet with Madonna, "Me Against the Music," only earned a Gold certification from the RIAA, for sales of half a million copies, while signature Brit hits like "I'm a Slave for U," "Everytime," "Lucky" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy" were only certified for sales of 1 million copies each.
