The annual American Music Awards went down in Los Angeles last night, and Machine Gun Kelly took home the honor of Favorite Rock Artist for a second year in a row.

MGK thanked his fans, and once again had an issue with the stage setup, joking, “I’m petitioning for larger mic stands next time.” He also joked about his outfit, a purple suit adorned with large spikes, sharing, “This suit is really uncomfortable to pee in.”

MGK also called out other rock artists who question whether he really is a rocker, noting they’ve called him a “tourist,” while he describes himself as a “rocketman.” “We weren’t born on the moon but we looked at it and we were curious and we went there, supposedly, and these last two rock albums to me were me going to the moon,” he said. “I’m not done exploring the universe yet I’m all genres,” he added, with his final moments censored for cursing.

It was also a big night for Ghost, who earned their first-ever AMA for Favorite Rock Album for Impera, while Coldplay nabbed the trophy for Favorite Touring Artist and Måneskin won Favorite Rock Song for “Beggin.”

Måneskin frontman Damiano David shared his disbelief they were sitting beside “some of the greatest artists in the world,” adding, “it’s amazing for us, we still are kinda figuring it out. It’s very surprising for us and we never expected to win this category against these huge huge huge artists, so thank you once again.”

As for rock performances, Imagine Dragons represented, treating the audience to “Bones,” backed by a group of dancers, and following that with “Enemy” where they were joined by JID.
