As the hip-hop world continues to mourn the passing of DMX, 50 Cent and Swizz Beatz are blasting Irv Gotti for his comments about the Ruff Ryders icon dying from drugs.
"This guy is a idiot, did he just say DMX died from smoking crack and fentanyl! why would he say that?" Fiddy wrote on Instagram, with a clip from Gotti’s recent interview on a Chicago radio station.
The Murder Inc. founder stated during the interview, “They said it was a bad dose of crack and they said some drug fentanyl was mixed in with the crack and that's what made him overdose,"
"Then when he got to the hospital, he got diagnosed with COVID and he couldn't breathe -- you know that COVID messes with your respiratory system," Gotti added. "So that's why he had to get hooked up to the ventilator. They said before he did, they was like, 'His brain died.'"
Swizz, who joined his fellow Ruff Ryders in a moment of silence at the DMX memorial service April 25 in New York City, also expressed his anger about Gotti’s interview. “Bozo moves can’t lie,” he wrote in a comment.
DMX spokesperson Angelo Ellerbee previously stated that DMX did not test positive for COVID-19. The Exit Wounds star passed away April 9 at White Plains Hospital outside of New York City. He was 50 years old. The cause of death was listed as a heart attack.
