nger, actress, dancer and director Teyana Taylor graces the cover of Maxim's Hot 100 Issue as the magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive."
"I've followed Maxim for a long time, and I've always felt like I should be on the cover," she says in an interview with the magazine.
Taylor also discusses portraying 2020's Twitter queen, Dionne Warwick, in an upcoming Netflix biopic. The idea came after Warwick suggested Taylor play her in her life story last December.
"It was crazy 'cause once I responded, she and her son immediately reached out, and we got on the phone and got straight to it," Teyana says. "And now we're at the development stage, and it's so exciting."
Taylor also notes that she had meetings with Warwick to make sure she "approves everything and is comfortable with everything before we move forward."
She adds, "That was the most important thing for me, to really learn one another and know what it is that she wants, and make sure her story is coming from her own mouth, rather than bringing people in to change her narrative."
Elsewhere, the 30-year-old mom talks about directing music videos under her alter-ego name, "Spike Tey/Tee," and preparing to launch her family docu-series, We Got Love Teyana & Iman, on E! this fall. The series will take viewers inside Teyana's marriage and life with her husband, basketball star Iman Shumpert, and their two daughters, five-year-old Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., aka Junie, and nine-month-old Rue Rose.
Taylor says she hopes to look back on the series and "know I did a good job as a mom; I did a good job as a director, I did a good job balancing careers, balance your love, things that are important and good."
