Donald Glover sparked a Twitter debate Tuesday after calling out the current state of television and film.
In a series of tweets early Tuesday morning, the multi-hyphenate star shared his thoughts about cancel culture.
"Saw people on here having a discussion about how tired they were of reviewing boring stuff (tv & film)," he tweeted. "We're getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes (?) because people are afraid of getting cancelled."
In another tweet, he continued, "So they feel like they can only experiment with aesthetic. (Also because some of em know they're not that good)."
Fans praised Glover's honest opinion, stating he was "speaking facts" about the ever-changing film and entertainment industry. Meanwhile, others felt he was having a sporadic Twitter moment like Kanye West ahead of the upcoming season of his series, Atlanta.
"Donald tweeting like Kanye," tweeted one fan, while another said, "I already know Atlanta [season three is going to] be some of the greatest television of all time."
Production for seasons three and four of Atlanta began in January, as previously reported. One season will primarily be shot in the A-T-L as usual, while the other will be shot in Europe. Aside from Glover, Atlanta also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz and Brian Tyree Henry as upcoming rapper Paper Boi. The FX series previously won a Golden Globe award for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy in 2017 and an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography a year later.
