Rapper DMX's final recorded interview has an airdate. Back in March, the "Party Up (In Here) artist spoke with TVOne's Uncensored, who announced they will air the never-before-seen footage starting May 16.
According to Entertainment Tonight, X -- real name Earl Simmons -- candidly chatted about breaking into the mainstream despite being told he'd die before achieving any form of success.
"Up until I was 20, I was told I wouldn't live to see 20," X remarked in the upcoming interview. He said that remarked inspired him to "out live every body's expectations. And not just out live but out perform, out last 'em."
The Grammy nominee also said during his sit-down, "Every good idea is a gift from God, and how you say thank you is by using it."
The interview took place three weeks before X died of a heart attack. He was 50. He spent a week on life support at White Plains Hospital in New York and never recovered, passing away on April 9.
Uncensored DMX will air in two parts, with the first half slated to air Sunday, May 16, at 8 p.m. ET on TVOne.
