Angelina Jolie's new thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead underperformed at this weekend's box office, opening in third with a disappointing $2.8 million haul, while a Saw spin-off scared up the top spot.

Coming in first was newbie Spiral -- a new entry in the Saw universe, which  debuted in first after collecting $8.7 million in its opening weekend. It stars comedian Chris Rock playing a detective on the case of a series of grisly murders.

The Jason Statham-starring thriller Wrath of Man fell to second place with $3.7 million.

In fourth was the anime blockbuster Demon Slayer: Mugen Train with $1.78 million -- boosting its global haul to $477 million -- and rounding out the top five was Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon, picking up $1.71 million in its eleventh week.  Disney is the parent company of ABC News.
