Five-time Grammy-nominated singer Travis Greene is preparing to release his new album, Oil + Water. He tells ABC Audio that there wasn't any anxiety or hesitation during the creation of this album, and he can't wait for fans to hear it.
"I'm pumped about the record," says Greene. "I don't think there's anxiety. I haven't really sat around and thought about people's receptiveness to it, but we're having a big album-release concert and so that I'm really excited about. That's where all of our energy has been."
Greene says Oil + Water "is smacking," and describes it as one of his "favorites," considering the 10-track album has guest appearances from gospel and R&B artists like Anthony Hamilton, who joined Greene on the title track.
"Every song has a feature," he says. "We released a few of them already....Anthony Hamilton, Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee [on 'Hold on Me'], Madison Binion [on 'Love Songs."] Those songs are out now."
The 37-year-old says Oil + Water also features his single "Easter" with Todd Dulaney, and additional appearances from Kierra Sheard, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Darrel Walls, D'Nar, Mali Musicand Le'Andria Johnson.
"The album is full of just crazy talent and some really cool songs. We worked hard on it and we're excited about it," Greene says.
Oil + Water drops August 20.
