Slipknot has offered a tribute to the band's former drummer and founding member Joey Jordison, who died Monday at age 46.
The masked metallers tweeted a simple black square following the news of Jordison's passing, which was announced Tuesday afternoon. Knot members Corey Taylor, Shawn "Clown" Crahan and Jim Root posted the image, as well.
Jordison founded Slipknot alongside Crahan and bassist Paul Gray in 1995. He remained with the band until his departure in 2013.
According to a statement from his family, Jordison died "peacefully in his sleep." His memory will be honored with a private funeral service.
