Mastodon's 2004 record Leviathan is a concept album based on the classic novel Moby-Dick. Nearly 20 years later, the Atlanta metallers are embarking on an aquatic journey of their own.
On July 15, Mastodon will air a streaming concert recorded at the Georgia Aquarium in their hometown. In addition to the unique setting, the set will also mark the band's first ever acoustic performance.
While we don't know if the Georgia Aquarium houses the fabled white whale (holy grail!), it does have a whale shark, which is the largest fish in the world.
The concert, dubbed Captured Live at Georgia Aquarium, will stream via the platform Dreamstage. Tickets are on sale now at Dreamstage.live.
Last month, Mastodon released a new song called "Forged by Neron," which was recorded for the DC Comics-inspired album Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack. The band's most recent album is 2017's Emperor of Sand.
