Rage Against the Meniscus: Drummer Brad Wilk undergoes knee surgery

It turns out raging against the machine for years can be tough on your body.

Case in point: Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk announced Wednesday that he's undergoing knee surgery.

"Torn meniscus knee surgery going down today," Wilk wrote in an Instagram post. "Got a lot of hard notes out [of] this knee."

Artists including Dave Navarro, Garbage and System of Down's Shavo Odadjian, as well as actor and metalhead Jason Momoa, commented on the post, wishing Wilk luck with the procedure.

Wilk will have plenty of time to recover, since Rage's much-anticipated reunion tour won't kick off until March 2022. The outing, which will mark the band's return to the stage for the first time since 2011, was originally planned for 2020 before getting postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
