Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty was sentenced in Los Angeles on Wednesday after failing to register as a sex offender.
Petty, 44, was sentenced to three years of probation and one year of in-home detention for the offense, according to MyNewsLA.com. He was also ordered to pay a $55,000 fine.
The sentencing comes a year after Petty pleaded guilty to the federal charge of failure to register.
Petty was convicted in 1995 of attempted rape for an incident that occurred the year before with a 16-year-old girl in New York. He served over four years in prison for the offense and was ordered to register as a sex offender if he ever moved out of the state.
Petty and Nicki married in 2019 and moved to California afterward. They welcomed their first child together in September 2020.
