Get ready for a lot of Brandon Boyd in 2022.

In an interview with NME, the Incubus frontman reveals that he plans to release new music with the "Drive" rockers next year, as well as a new solo album.

"Our intention is to put together a new group of songs," Boyd says of Incubus' plans. "Whether it'll be an EP or an LP, I'm not sure."

"We're hoping to have that done sometime by spring," he adds. "But there's a lot of hope in that statement."

Incubus' most recent release is the 2020 EP Trust Fall (Side B). Their latest full-length effort is 2017's 8.

As for the solo material, Boyd says he's readying a new record, titled Echoes and Cocoons, for this coming February. While he previously told NME that he was working on an album of "mostly covers," Boyd now says the collection will consist of almost entirely original material, along with just two covers.

"It's really cool," Boyd says of his solo effort. "It's a very different record for me."

The upcoming album will be Boyd's sophomore solo outing, following his 2010 debut, The Wild Trapeze.
