Rapper Kash Doll says she showed a vulnerable side of herself in the premiere episode of 50 Cent's new crime-drama Black Mafia Family.
In the series, which is inspired by the true-life story of the Black Mafia Family, a notorious crime organization during the 1980s, Kash plays Monique, a single mother and the lover of BMF leader Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory. The Detroit native tells ABC Audio that she was extremely apprehensive about her first official appearance on the show, in which she had to act out a nude love scene.
"That was my toughest moment of all, like, 'Oh, my God,'" Kash recalls. "I was just like, 'What am I to do?'"
Thankfully for Kash, the sex scene "wasn't as bad as [she] thought it was going to be."
"I was more comfortable because it was with someone that I knew, which was [Demetrius] "Lil Meech" [Flenory Jr.], [who's] coming from Detroit," she shares. "So that was just a hard pill to swallow. But, it was cool, 'cause now I think I could do it again."
With the first episode behind her, Kash is now relishing the fact that she is getting to live a life-long dream of starring on a show and playing someone she finds meaningful.
"I mean, first of all, she's from Detroit. Secondly, I wanted to be a part of this [so much that] -- I wouldn't care if I had to play a man," she laughs. "So, let alone be Monique, someone that every woman could relate to...I was just ecstatic and I just wanted it so bad. And I prayed on it. And, you know, I got it."
Black Mafia Family, also starring Da'Vinchi and Russell Hornsby, airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
