Royal Blood has released a cover of Metallica's "Sad but True" for the upcoming Blacklist tribute album.

Despite the duo's minimalist setup, they certainly don't skimp on the heavy as frontman Mike Kerr replicates the song's monster riff on his bass as drummer Ben Thatcher wales on the drums.

You can listen to Royal Blood's version of "Sad but True" now via digital outlets.

The Metallica Blacklist, due out September 10, consists of 53 artists covering every song off Metallica's Black Album in honor of its 30th anniversary. Along with Royal Blood's contribution, a version of "Of Wolf and Man" by folk rock band Goodnight, Texas is also out today.

Meanwhile, Metallica has released a 1993 live recording of "Of Wolf and Man," one of the many bonus tracks included on the upcoming 30th anniversary deluxe reissue of The Black Album. That collection arrives September 10, as well.
