Nine Inch Nails will headline the 2022 Boston Calling and Welcome to Rockville festivals in place of Foo Fighters, who canceled their tour dates following the unexpected death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last month.

Trent Reznor's band is set to take the stage at Boston Calling on Friday, May 27. As previously reported, the festival's other headliners are Metallica and The Strokes, while the rest of the bill includes Weezer, Avril Lavigne, Glass Animals, Black Pumas, Modest Mouse, HAIM, Cheap Trick, grandson, KennyHoopla and The Struts.

At Welcome to Rockville, NIN will play Sunday, May 22. That lineup also features KISS, Guns N' Roses, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, The Smashing Pumpkins, Papa Roach, Megadeth, Rise Against and Jane's Addiction.

Boston Calling 2022 takes place May 27-29, while Welcome to Rockville is held May 19-22 in Daytona Beach, Florida. For the full lineups and all ticket info, visit BostonCalling.com and WelcometoRockville.com.

Hawkins died March 25 ahead of a Foo Fighters show in Bogotá, Colombia, planned for that night. He was 50 years old.

On March 29, the Foos announced the cancellation of rest of their scheduled tour dates.

"We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned," the band wrote. "Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together."
