Machine Gun Kelly may be getting booed on stage, but he's still living large on the charts.
The "Bloody Valentine" rocker's 2020 album Tickets to My Downfall -- which saw him shift from rapping to a more pop-punk sound in collaboration with Blink-182's Travis Barker, has just entered its 52nd week on the Billboard 200. That means the record has now been charting on the Billboard 200 for a full year.
Tickets debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release last September, and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA. It's the first MGK album to achieve both of those feats.
The news must be welcome for the Machine Gun Kelly team after yesterday's deluge of headlines about Kelly getting booed during his Louder than Life festival set last weekend. Footage from the performance showed crowd members jeering Kelly and holding their middle fingers in the air, seemingly in response to him dissing beloved metal outfit Slipknot as "old weird dudes with masks."
Kelly, however, says that the fans way outnumbered the haters.
"I don't know why the media lies in their narrative against me all the time," Kelly tweeted alongside a video from the Louder than Life set showing the audience enthusiastically singing along with him. "All I saw was 20,000 amazing fans at the festival singing every word and 20 angry ones."
