The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, or LASD, has submitted its case on sexual assault allegations against Marilyn Manson to the LA County District Attorney, or LADA.
In a statement obtained by ABC News, the LASD says, "Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victims Bureau have completed a nineteen-month-old investigation regarding sexual assault allegations involving Brian Warner, AKA 'Marilyn Manson.'"
"The case was submitted to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Monday September 19, 2022, for review and complaint filing consideration," the statement continues.
In its own statement, however, the LADA characterizes the LASD's case submission as "partial case material."
"There is more material that is still outstanding, however, we do not have a timeline for the additional submission from the LASD," the LADA says. "Once we receive everything, experienced prosecutors will carefully and deliberatively review everything that has been submitted prior to making a filing decision."
"This review will take some time but rest assured our office takes these allegations very seriously," the LADA adds. "LADA is dedicated to providing care and assistance to all victims of sexual assault, abuse and intimate partner violence."
The LASD announced in February 2021 that they'd opened an investigation on Warner, who earlier that month had been accused of abuse by ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood. Several other women have accused Warner of abuse and sexual assault, including actor Esmé Bianco, model Ashley Morgan Smithline, Warner's former assistant Ashley Walters and an anonymous Jane Doe. All four have filed lawsuits against Warner, though Walters' case was dismissed earlier this year.
Wood made further allegations against Warner in her documentary Phoenix Rising. Warner, who has denied all allegations, has responded with a defamation lawsuit against Wood.
