Fall Out Boy drops off Hella Mega dates after member of band's team tests positive for COVID-19

Fall Out Boy will not be playing the next two shows on the Hella Mega tour with Green Day and Weezer due to a positive COVID-19 test from an "individual on the band's team."

In an Instagram post, the "Sugar, We're Goin Down" rockers announce that, "out of an abundance of caution," they're dropping off the bill for Wednesday's show in New York City, and Thursday's date in Boston.

"It's important to note that everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated," the post reads. "Each band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows."

It continues, "The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines."

Both the NYC and Boston concerts will go on with Green Day, Weezer and opening act The Interrupters still playing. The next scheduled show is Sunday, August 8, in Washington, D.C.
