Cardi B dropped her much anticipated new track “Hot S***” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk on Friday; her first single since “Up” in February 2021.

The Grammy winner admits she’s so nervous about the song, she needs to do something to calm down.

“I don't even know what's going on. Maybe I need to smoke weed again,” she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music. “I haven't smoked weed in six years. Maybe I need to rub myself with some CBD.”

Cardi explained that she originally recorded “Hot S***” in 2019 but knew something was missing.

“I always felt like it needed a male feature, but I did not know which male artist to put on this record because this has a certain type of beat that I feel like only certain artists could freak it,” she says.

The “WAP” rapper selected Kanye and Durk to add verses, and she loves how they each bring a unique style to the song.

“I feel like Durk verse is really street,” the 29-year-old MC comments. “And then when Kanye verse come in, you see people that are more into that money, into that grown s***. So I like how both... The different elements that they bring to the song.”

The Hustlers star says her goal with the song was to reach the high energy level of one of her favorite rappers, Meek Mill.

“I feel like we're missing these club bangers. I don't know what's going on right now. I want to hear something. I want to hear like... You know those records that Meek used to do,” Cardi adds. “I want to hear one of those that it's just like, pump me up.”
