Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has released a new song called "In Defiance," which was produced by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda.
The six-minute track first premiered during one of Shinoda's Twitch streams earlier this year. At the time, Shinoda described his approach to the tune as "Gonna try to keep the metal, but mash it up with lots of unexpected things."
That's a fairly spot-on characterization, as "In Defiance" is a frenzy of vocoder and falsetto vocals with heavy, dubstep-esque guitar riffs and giant solos.

By the way, you don't have to be Matt Heafy to get Mike Shinoda to produce your song -- he's been producing tracks by fans and aspiring artists throughout the year on Twitch.
Heafy, meanwhile, is set to hit the road this summer with Trivium on the Metal Tour of the Year alongside Megadeth, Lamb of God and In Flames.
