Alicia Keys is planning a massive celebration to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her Grammy-winning debut album, Songs in A Minor.
On Wednesday, the R&B songstress shared an archival video clip of herself performing one of the album's standout tracks, "Troubles," on Instagram.
"Her first show in London. Before Songs in A Minor came out," Keys reflected in a message accompanying the post. "This was for all the tastemakers, press [and] all the people they said could make or break her."
The two-minute clip captures Keys rocking the signature beaded braids she wore in the early 2000s while making jokes about her first time in London.
"Was she nervous? Hell yea!!" Alicia continued in the note. "So she resorted to jokes, that's always been the best medicine for nerves, and 'Troubles' has always been one of my favorite songs."
As previously reported, the 40-year-old singer revealed plans for a special 20th-anniversary release of Songs in A Minor featuring the album's original 16 tracks, including two previously unreleased tracks, "Foolish Heart" and "Crazy (Mi Corazon)."
The limited-edition two-LP, which drops Friday, will be pressed onto a black-and-green colored vinyl housed in custom packaging with pop-up imagery of a piano. A digital version also will be available.
Songs in A Minor was released June 5, 2001, and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album landed Keys' first five Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and three trophies for her debut single, "Fallin.'"
